Paul Harrison is the brainchild and creative director of the British luxury menswear brand, Paul Ainsley. A label that specialises in high-quality bespoke shirts, cufflinks and ties that come in a range of traditional styles, suited to the tastes of a modern gentleman.
Leading up to the launch of his brand, Paul was juggling his time between, designing new pieces and heading his own design and advertising business based in the UK. He was first spurred to create his own clothing line whilst working as the Art Director at Ogilvy & Mather in Milan. This is where he witnessed the attention to detail that several larger brands had. From this point, he knew that he had to start his own menswear label. On his returned to London, he carried out extensive market research on the menswear sector and found distributors during the first five years. Followed by tying up loose ends on the logistic and design side of the business.
Paul lists Patrick Grant, the owner of Savile Row tailors Norton & Sons and the creative director of E Tautz, as his main inspiration in the fashion industry. After visiting a talk that Patrick participated in at the V&A Museum Tea Rooms, at the same time when Paul was starting his brand.
Launched in 2017, Paul is ready to make long-lasting experiences that will stay hanged in a customer’s wardrobe for a lifetime. As a menswear designer, Paul describes his label as ‘subtle, elegant and full of craftsmanship’. Paul has added a unique feature on each shirt with a small pocket situated on the back of the button placket. Paul add this feature to house a Sterling silver tablet that can be personally engraved, to keep close to the wearer’s heart.
To meet the requirements of the Paul Ainsley client, who favours convenience without compromising quality, the label also provides the service of visiting a client’s desired location for fittings. To make sure that each shirt fits perfectly, to cater their specific needs. Perfect for the modern man on-the-go.
Paul plans to continue to craft high-quality pieces and launch his menswear label in international markets.
